Maurice Black is a Negro gangster in Los Angeles. Born Maurice Wynn, he changed his name to reflect his status within the community—indeed, all issues Black will be handled in some fashion or another by ‘Mister Black’.

The rise of the ‘Black Godfather’ is largely the fault of the Dragna Organization—Max Dragna refuses to have a hand in the Heroin trade, and Black rose to the occasion. He may not have as much influence as the Chicago crew, but he is wildly rich and just as ruthless.
