Thaddeus Gong is a retired private detective who lives in Los Angeles.

Gong, the son of an investor and professional transient, is currently the head chef and owner of Jewel of the Orient, a nicely appointed Chinese showbar and restaurant. A popular hangout for the police of Los Angeles, it is well known for the quality of it’s food and it’s late hours of operation (Thaddeus opens the doors at 6:00am and closes again at 3:00am).

Gong is the father of Assistant District Attorney Johnny Gong.
